Our philosophy is “if it doesn’t feel like home, buyers aren’t going to buy!” Let’s face it, people buy their homes based on their emotions. Yes, the numbers need to fall within the buyer’s budget or a “stone’s throw away” but buying a home is VERY DIFFERENT from buying stocks or bonds. Therefore, our focus revolves around getting the seller’s house to feel like home to the buyer and elicit an Emotional Connection to buy!
Buyers decide within the first five minutes if a house is for them. Our objective is to WOW the buyers immediately by creating lasting first impressions. How do we do this? We uncover and highlight the charm that exists within a home by creating Emotional Connection points in strategic areas throughout the residence. Maybe we’ll place a “Tiffany’s box” on the bed with a bottle of champagne and two glasses. This evokes much emotion in most women. It allows the buyers to feel that they are at home by appealing to their desires and emotions. The last thing we want to do is strip a home of its charm so that it feels like a hotel room. This is not our style or philosophy.

Sonia Marshall-Brown is the Founder and President of Emotional Connection Home Staging, LLC. Sonia received her training and certification from Home Staging Resource, the only training program accredited by the Real Estate Staging Association “RESA”. Sonia studied at the Parsons School of Design and the Fashion Institute of Technology. She has a BBA in Sales and Marketing.
